Research interests: Human rights, interethnic relationships, autonomy, law, violence and armed conflicts, reparation and restitution.

My Masters research will seek to identify the cultural explanations that are given to events and actions related to the Colombian armed conflict.
I am interested in understanding some different practices for reconciliation within an indigenous community and how these are applied within other processes of reparation.
Processes of ethnic reconstruction and transformation are often manifested in an adversely affected group's narratives of history. Explanations for disruptive events then
become entwined in the group's oral narratives and associated practices. By exploring different meanings, narratives and cultural practices, I will attempt to determine concepts of
reparation and restitutions in these contexts.
